Fostering & Adoption

Our dedicated team of foster carers help us to provide cats in need with the safety of their home whilst tending to their welfare needs. By providing a temporary loving environment, our foster carers play a crucial role in a cat’s wellbeing and socialisation, while we get to know each cats’ individual personality and traits. This will significantly improve their chances of successful rehoming! While our cats are in foster care, we will be busy monitoring them and finding them the ‘Purrrfect’ forever home.

Just how does it work?

Cat fostering is a fantastic way of getting involved in animal welfare without it taking up too much of your time, cats are great company and there are many benefits to fostering such as:

  • You don’t need to leave your house; your foster cat will stay with you until they are adopted
  • You will be hands on with your foster cat, getting to know them, growing their confidence and helping them to adapt to life within a safe home environment.
  • Stroking and grooming cats is an excellent way to relax at the end of a long day
  • We will cover all the costs of taking care of your foster cat. We are also happy to reimburse any other pre-agreed expenses that you may incur through volunteering for us so becoming a cat foster carer won’t leave you out of pocket
  • Foster caring is extremely rewarding, our foster carers enjoy taking care of our cats, building their confidence and then taking joy in waving them goodbye as they go to their wonderful new home.

TO BECOME A CAT FOSTER CARER YOU WILL NEED TO:

  • Provide our cats with care, suitable housing, and a safe environment as per our policies and guidelines.
  • Feed, water and groom them in line with our advice.
  • Transport them to any veterinary appointments when required.
  • Provide them with your time and patience.
  • Playing and cuddles are also a must!

You must be over the age of 18 to become a foster carer. Our foster cats will need their own space within your home so a separate room to care for them is needed, especially if there are other animals living within your household.

Domestic Welfare

We support members of the community with their domestic welfare needs and run. We do this by providing contribution vouchers for microchipping and neutering and provide contributions for pets to receive emergency veterinary care. Contribution vouchers are available to those on some government benefits.

Animals can bring a lot of happiness to their owners but are a big financial commitment. Before committing to a pet, the cost should be carefully considered. Use the link below to calculate the cost of a particular species or breed.

Pet insurance can help you cover the costs of veterinary treatment and medical expenses. We strongly recommend insuring your pet to protect you against unexpected costs should your pet have an accident or become unwell. Policy costs vary by provider, so you should shop around and find the best policy for you and your beloved pet.
